I have been lucky enough to be involved in a Letterpress workshop at LCC.
Pulling out draws and draws of type and discovering different ink
stained blocks is terribly exciting for someone like me.
The phrase I have chosen to work with is by Tennessee Williams, his language is visual and poignant, it moves me.
The violets in the mountains have broken the rocks.
It's from the play 'Camino Real' but it is also written on Tennessee's gravestone, a beautiful tribute.
Above you can see all of the 'V's' I have been trying out for 'violets'. I want the V to cut right through the text, it's an arrow, it says, here I am.
